Just two weeks ago, everything is quite in disarray for Liverpool Football Club. On the field, the players seems to be a frustrating bunch that might be suspected that they played rugby instead of football. 10 points behind leaders and main rivals, the optimism of lifting the EPL trophy after 19 years seems to fade away. Off the field, the manager refuse to sign a new contract. They sacked the Chief Executive. The owners are not in good terms. In short, everything was so not in place.
Benitez has been frustrating Liverpool fans for his refusal to sign a new contract, igniting worries for the club's future plans.
After a tantalizing and bullish week of superb football, the feng shui turns. The team is in high spirits. The gap between the leaders is now 4 points. Benitez finally willing to sign a new five-year contract and as bonus, installed with a 30 million warchest to spend on players next season. The Yankee owners are, in real American Hollywood style, patching up (again). And to add the icing to the cake, Gerrard is dropped from the assault charges.
Stevie G appearing in court where his assault charges are dropped.
It sure looks like a turnaround. So a comeback and most importantly, trophies perhaps? We are waiting on the sidelines.
