Its Going Down

Again. What la? CGPAs are so hard to maintain....its like a hill slope. Fall, free flow...going up, you probably think you will nv reach the top, ever. The theory applies on CGPAs. Exactly the same.

Me: (calling home) Dad, got ma results d?
Dad: It came this morning.
Me: Good. How ar? *Heart pounding*
Dad: Hmm...lets see. 2B 1A.
Me: *dissapointed* Er...ya ah?
Dad: Ya. English and Counselling got B. Malaysian Culture A.
Me: *talking to myself* Shit. As usual.
Me: So how the CGPA and GPA?*heart pounds faster*
Dad: GPA, 3.3 something. CGPA, 3.58
Me: (a lil' bit relief) Oh...like tat ah?
Dad: Ya. So how?
Me: How what?
Dad: Ok ah like tat?
Me: Er....okla( lying). Still 3.5 what.
Dad: Hmmm.
Me: Still can improve.
Dad: Its a must.
Me: (talking to myself) Oops. Shouldn't have said that.

Neway, it wasn't a good one, the result. The thing just keep dropping. Plus, some of my friends got 4.0. It just piles up the pressure and tension. Thomas get 4.0, Sarah got 4.0. Am wondering how do they study while pratically having a life....meaning they are no nerds yet damn chun in studies. Salute these people.

As expected(not actually, I did hope I get A), English got B, again. Found out that no one got A for it anyway, for my whole course that is. Do they really got bias for SSSH students or what? Counselling subject? As usual. I felt its just that "curse" that any counselling subjects won't be my cup of tea. That is, hopefully, the last time it will happen. May the bad chi go away.

For now, as usual, I will be saying something like, next sem I will be studying hard, next sem I wont be lazy, next sem yada yada.

It won't happen, or isit?

Of Dad and World Cup

Before I left for Kl a year ago, dad is usually away. Seldom we talk to each other about our stuff(I am the one listening to him talking about his work). Most of the time he was at work. What frustrates me was his night shifts, he sleeps when I am awake and vice versa. So can't blame we are not as close as I am to mom. Financially, he's the one I always go to. Have to. Mom always says: " Go to ur dad if u wanna buy this and that." I did.

Father's day?Father's day is just any other day during my days in Penang.

That changed when I came here, esp. its been one year from the last dad's day.
I went back to Penang.

Dad's was as usual as he is. The emotionless one. but i knew he is happy to see me. Surprised actually. I din tell him I am coming back till I reached the bridge. Unfortunately, he broke his arm while working temporary in an aquarium center( he retired a year ago as a loyal servant in Motorola). It wasn't as bad as I imagined it was. Phew. Mom did some exaggerations on the phone.

It was Father's Day the next day. And the unfilial son in me has nothing to give dad as present. Heh. So, we had dim sum as breakfast, and I paid, to the surprise of Dad. I know. I don't do this usually. But since its Father's Day, at least give me a chance la. He did actually wanted to pay me back the money, and I was like, WTF? (I din say it loud tho, duh).

The World Cup looms around, and Dad loooves World Cups. He has been a loyal fan to the biggest event in football, since..I dunno. People say: Football gets the world talking. It does. Me dad and I are talking non-stop about it. It was the first time we exchange words for more than ten sentences, probably.

Watching World Cup and hearing my dad commentating during a match is fun and erm, frustrating at the same time. I had to divide attention between the English and the Hokkien version. Practically, as usual we are having our football session in my aunt's house and the whole family gathers around....will come to that later. Now, back to dad.

Its a farcry from the days that dad was working. Back then, I seldom see my dad sitting on his fave rotan chair. Now, I can see him sitting on it almost 24/7. Its kinda unusual to see him around in the house, but its worth getting use to it.

On Dad's day, Dad spent most of the time reading newspapers. Other times, we just watched DVDs together. He used to travel a lot, but since he's injured, that makes my travelling session during that time much much lesser. Its weird to discuss what I did in college, the daily events happening in Penang and of course the world cup with my dad.. But hey, its very...i dunno the word..u just feel fun to have him around la.

Practically, its a very meaningful father's day to me this time around.

_________________________________________

My history of interest in World Cups is not a long one. The first time I know about the event is in 1998. Back then, the only player I know is David Beckham, thanks to the Brylcream ad. I watched with my dad for the first time. I remembered the one question I asked my dad: " Why are they just passing around instead of shooting at the goal?" I can't remember what my dad said. It somthing about tatical and stuff. Back then, I am just blur.

2002. The second World Cup in my life. This time around, I knew quite well about the more famous faces in football. Figo, Owen and of course Beckham. I still have no idea about what the heck is formations and countries such as Argentina and Croatia are just weird names to me. Dad is still the evergreen commentator in our family. By the end of it, I was just thrilled by the games and thats when I involved physically in football. The Germany team with Oliver Kahn maybe the inspiration.

2006. World Cup is just as exciting to me as in 2002. Now, I can name the countries participating, the stadiums they are using, the whole England, Brazil, Spain and France squad and all the faces I ever saw in club football. This time around, my dad has to ask me who is who. So, similiar to what we used to do every weekend for club football, we gather at my aunts' place for the usual football session. My aunts are just as interested as we are in football. We shouted whenever a goal or a miss is conducted. We make fun at fat ass Ronaldo and Jar-Jar Binks, a.k.a. Ronaldinho. We booed whenever England touches the ball. Not really. We discussed about the refree and the formation bla bla bla bla bla. Basically, we indulged in every match.

Class started on Tuesday, and unfortuanely I have to leave again. There are so many things to do, yet so less time. Somebody please quickly invent the damn teleport machine.

Out.

Talk Football.

These few days, its gonna to be world cup, world cup and more world cup. With so many sources for the event, including 3 channels of TV, 4 channels by Astro and the Internet, it is not hard to get the coverage the football freaks and of course the normal people wanted.

Speaking of football freaks and normal people, how do you actually define them? Here's some examples that can enlighten you.

Football freaks' conversation:

Cheng: So, netherlands who become striker today?
Me: Nistelrooy, Van Persie and Robben lo. As usual lah.
Bang: Eh, chun le. But I see only Robben working la. By the way, I heard Robben very short only la.
Cheng: He short? C'mon. He's 182cm. He's short because the whole Holland team is tall maa.
Bang: Oh. Eh, then where's Seedorf and Davids ah?
Me: they not participating la. Van Basten(coach) don't like them. Stam oso din come in le.
Bang: Wah, really ah? Seedorf good le. AC Milan there perform so well. Why le?
Me: Aiya, ask the coach lo.
Cheng: So, midfield use who?
Me: If no surprise, Van Bommel, Schnijder, Van der Vaart.
Bang: Wah, boleh tahan le. Van Bommel barecelona one le. He very keng le. Van der Vaart not bad pun. Heard he scored 2 goals in 9 matches in qualifying.
Cheng: That u oso noe?
Bang: Abo le? By the way, i noticed that van der Sar goalkick very chun. He how many caps d ah?
Me: 119 caps and counting. He chun la. Uses both legs to kick. Robben and Van Persie oso can le.
Cheng: Yalo. Chun la. Fulham vs Arsenal. Van der Sar damn yeng. Save dunno 22 times I think.
Bang: More than that lo.

The conversation goes on for the whole football match between Netherlands vs Serbia and Montenegro.

Talking to normal people:

Thomas: So, today who's playing?
Me: Netherlands and Serbia and Montenegro.
Thomas: Hah? Where the heck is Serbia and Montenegro?
Me: Somewhere in Europe la.
Thomas: Oic. Heard Netherlands not bad oso. But I still like Brazil the most.
Me: Who say Netherlands not good. They play total football one le. Somemore got players like Robben, Van Nistelrooy, Van der Vaart and van der Sar. Defence all young one tho this time. Only van Bronckhorst old oni.
Thomas: *sweating* *3 stripes on the head*. Hah?

Notice the above conversation are all boys, lets see how the opposition gender talks about football:

Denise: So, who's playing today?
Me: Germany and Costa Rica.
Denise: Costa what? never heard before la.
Me: Its a Carribbean nation.
Denise: Oic. So, tell me. How does the offside trap works?
Me:*Explaining by using the most simple terms I can find to make her understand*
Denise: Er....ok. Like that ar. Hmm..Costa Rica good ah?
Me: Well, according to the FIFA Ranking, it shows that Germany is 19th and CR is 21st.
Denise: Eh, not bad too. Who's in the team then for CR?
Me: Erm. not so well known la the players. Paulo Wanchope is the most famous. He played for Manchester City, Derby and Malaga. Now 37 years old d.
Denise: *sweat* Icic. So, any leng chais in Germany?
Me: .....................
Of course not all females are "normal people". There are some who are as informative, in some cases more informative than the boys. Especially you have a football freak as your brother.

Sis: Ko, England match very boring la.
Me: I know.
Sis: They pass to the opponents more than passing to themselves. Gerrard and Crouch not performing well.
Me: I agree. I see only Lampard, Cole and the defence doing their work.
Sis: Yalo. Owen oso din see him. Beckham chun la the free kick.
Me: Yeap. Unfortunately, own goal la.
Sis: Gamara rite? He's from Charlton one right?
Me: Yeah.

Its amazing how the World Cup can produce so many reactions to it. Some say its the ultimate event in football. Others are not impressed as it only involves 22 people chasing a ball. Some go for it for the love of the game. Others see it as the big betting ring to invest in. Some goes for the skills and techniques. Others go for the leng chais inside the team.

Update for Group stage first match will be out soon.

Stay tuned.

4th Semester Preview

2 weeks into the 2nd year, and finally have met all the lectures enough to give me a preview for the whole of 4th sem, based on first impression that is.

This time around, the subjects which I gonna study is Family Counselling, Career Counselling, Leadership Skills, Basic Management Principle and Developmental Psychology. And by the way, hoorah becoz there will be no more language subjects.

First, Family Counselling.

Basically the name suggests what we are going to study this sem. Yeap. Family. The lecturer? According to Miss...sorry again...Dr.Chai, our head of Social Science, he is someone from the army and now half way through for his PhD in Psychology. Now, you will begin to imagine a particular guy with a muscular body, fashioned himself in a tight tee to show of his hard nipples and breast, growing a Hitler-like moustache and speaking in a commanding as well as irritating voice. Or at least this is who I was expecting. Surprisingly, he is the contrast of what we thing he is. The first time he stepped in, we thought he is the technician for the DK, trying to fix the lights. Describing him will be something like this: Small, student-faced, bespectacled and looks like some nerd to me. So, is the way he speaks. Someone from the army? Totally duped.

Now, to the subject itself. The moment he started to lecture, i am already opening my mouth wide. Why? Supposingly you came across words such as Cybernatic Epistemology, Reciprocal Determinism, Linear and Circular Casualty, Identified patient(ID) and 2nd Order Cybernatics, what will you think it is? For me, its something like a military strategy drill. Damn. You call this family counselling? I am expecting terms which are softer and more comfortable. Family maa.

Next, Career Counselling.

Finally, we had the opportunity to meet Miss Eva, recommended by the seniors as the best in our field. Well, the reputation matches her. Yeap. I find her classes very interesting. With her well-spoken English and quirky sense of humour, I'll be darned if you slept in her class. She did warned that this subject itself will be hard and boring. I think she's jsut being humble. The subject is interesting as long as you got an enthusiatic lecturer like her.

Leadership Skill.

In this context, we will not be studying to be some national leader and stuff. It will be something about how to lead a group counselling and doing group dynamics. The lecturer will be none other then Dr. Chai herself. She was with us for Introduction to Counselling, so somehow we already knew her ways of handling her class. Its a moderate subject, at least for the first and second week.

Basic Management Principle.

This is a business subject. Will be studied because it will help us in Human Resource Management in the future. Miss Khoo is the lecturer. Somehow, from some angle, she looks like my friend, Christine Goh. Whahaha. Practically, her style of lecture is kinda business-like, something like having a business conference. A fast talking and no nonsense lecturer.

Developmental Psychology.

For the third time during the course, Mr Phillip will be teaching us, which is good news. The ever informative guy he is, its always nice to have him as a lecturer. Past experience showed that he is well organized and fair to his student. An honest guy. The subject? The philosophy is the same as Career Counselling. Good lecturer=Interesting Subject.

As it is the second year, life will not be as beautiful as the previous year. The subjects are getting tougher and the assignments will be expectingly insane-like.

But thank god we dont have some particular grumpy old man and "hoh" sounding person as lecturer.....for now.

Reporting out.

World Cup Fever!

Finally, the day that the world awaits is here. The World Cup. As a passionate football fan, which, according to Thomas, is a.k.a. football freaks(call whatever you want), this is the time when we people unite together and watch the biggest event in football(screw the Americans who called it soccer, its just damn lame name).

As a vivid fan, here's a very basic view to the groups and countries and stars to shine in the World Cup.

Group A
Teams: Germany, Costa Rica, Poland, Ecuador

The obvious favourite to go through is Germany, which boast stars like M. Ballack, Oliver Kahn and Miroslav Klose. However, do expect excitement as Poland, Costa Rica and Ecuador have the chances to strike them down. Basically, if there are no complications, Germany will be leading the team, with the other 3 vying for 2nd place to go through.
Stars to look for: M.Ballack(Ger.), L. Podolski(Ger.)

Michael Ballack of Germany

Group B
Teams: England, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago, Sweden

Here, England has all what it takes to lead. With well-known stars such as Beckham, Owen, Rooney, Gerrard and Lampard, it is no easy job to beat them, that is if they make full use of their talents and skills. Sweden will be the closest rival to England in the group and will be expecting 2nd place. Paraguay, with its latin roots of tactical football will be able to mount a challenge. T&T will be on their debut world cup with veteran captain, Dwight Yorke leading them for a place of glory.
Stars to look for: Gerrard(Eng.), Rooney(Eng.), Yorke(T&T), Ibrahimovic(Swe.), Larsson(Swe.), Santa Cruz(Par.)

Steven Gerrard, England

Group C
Teams: Argentina, Cote D' Ivoire, Serbia and Montenegro, Netherlands

Known as the group of death, with each teams have their own legacy to go through the stage. Both Argentina and Netherlands have their stars and reputation to go through the stage. However, S&B and Ivory Coast also has their own records and star players to stage a fight. It is a unpredictable group which anything can happen.
Stars to look for: Messi(Arg.), Drogba(CDI), Kezman(S&B), Van Nistelrooy(Ntl.), Robben(Ntl.)

Group D
Teams: Mexico, Iran, Angola, Portugal

Mexico and Portugal will be the favourites through. Iran have many players which is Germany-based, which can cause a few problems. Angola is on their 1st appearance in the World Cup.
Stars to look for: C.Ronaldo(Por.), Figo(Por.), Deco(Por.), Franco(Mex.), Karimi(Iran)

Group E
Teams: Italy, Ghana, USA, Czech Rep.

Known as the second group of death. Italy and the Czechs will be favourites going through, having a lot of stars in their team. "Soccer" nation USA will be going into the competition with a very high ranking, 8th in FIFA ranking. Ghana is on their debut appearance, with few of their players plying their trade in European countries.
Stars to look for: Toni(Ita.), Totti(Ita.), Essien(Gha.), McBride(USA), Cech(Cze.), Nedved(Cze.)

Group F:
Teams: Brazil, Australia, Japan, Croatia

It will be the shock of the century if Brazil do not go through in this group. With the whole team of superstars and free-flowing football, it will be tough to disrupt their journey to road of glory. Croatia will be trying to emulate the 1998 team, having got 3rd place that year. Japan, with the experience of hosting the last World Cup and having reach 2nd round, will be trying hard to improve on their record. As for Australia, with its first appearance since 1974, will be hungry to fight for a place in the football map.
Stars to look for: Ronaldinho(Bra.), Kaka(Bra.), Ronaldo(Bra.), Robinho(Bra.), Adriano(Bra.), Klasnic(Cro.), Kewell(Aus.), Viduka(Aus.), Nakata(Jpn)

Ronaldinho, Brazil.

Group G:
Teams: France, Switzerland, Korea Rep., Togo

France will be facing threats from 3 emerging powers in football. With most of its stars in their retirement age, it may take quite an effort to go through. Korea will be favourite to go through by 2nd spot, reaching the last World Cup by 3rd place. Switzerland and Togo will have some difficult time in the competition.
Stars to look for: Henry(Fra.), Zidane(Fra.), J.S. Park(Kor.)

Group H:
Teams: Spain, Ukraine, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia

Spain will be the favourites through, having most of their star players in the team. Ukraine will be the one posing the biggest threat to their journey, with Andriy Shevchenko spear heading the team. Tunisia and Saudi Arabia will be merely fighting for honour and dignity.
Stars to look for: Raul(Spa.), Xabi Alonso(Spa.), Torres(Spa.), Shevchenko(Ukr.)

First match starts today(9th June 2006). Host Germany will be playing Costa Rica. Poland agianst Ecuador will be the other match.

Stay tuned for World Cup updates.

Bad Day

Life is not a smooth voyage. Bad days do come at the wrong time. And it did today for me. How people define a bad day maybe different. But I certainly considered today a bad day. An omen? Haha. *snort*

Woke up and I got 10 minutes before the first class starts. Went to the toilet just to find, for the tenth million times, some dumb ignorant asshole threw his shitted toilet paper outside the toilet bowl. Disgusting. The thing is, it is just right below the flusher where the leaking water is coming down. So, guess what happen when paper meets water. Elaboration not needed. And, its my favourite cubicle for at least one year. Bet he never had a toilet training before. He's lucky enought that he was not caught red handed by me, or else.

I reached on time tho for class. However, the moment I stepped in, thousands of demands for their photostated copies of notes bombarded on me. Damn. Told them to wait for me to give out the notes the day before at lecture, but some just slipped out like I never said anything. And now, at the brink of a tutorial, they want their notes. Ish.

The class went smoothly, except that I am lost. Its basic management principles, a subject for business people. Maybe I wasn't concentrating during lecture and din't do my revision. But hell, I dont have the slightest idea to answer the tutorial questions, which is kinda fucked up, as everybody is waiting for me to answer my question.Told ya, Sin Eu. Lazy some more la.

The life of a printing manager is not easy as it seems. After classes, while everybody can hop back gleefully for bed, I am to collect the photostated copies. Thank god, and of course thank Ernest and Thomas for their bikes. If not for them, I have to carry the notes all the way from TBR to anywhere else. As usual, went to TBR to collect the stuff, only to find out that I din't have enuf money. Dumb. Got into the bank next door only to find the ATM with the note "Harap Maaf. ATM tiada dalam perkhidmatan atas sebab....". Yada yada. *smack forehead*. So, went back to college to wait for a long queue to get the money. Went back to TBR again and found out even the weather is not kind to me. It rained. Walau.
On bike + set of notes + rain + traffic jam= the ultimate combination of "sui" (bad luck).

Then there is the meeting to setup the initially called Friends of Youth Society. It is a club meant to unite the counselling and psychology students to help the students in TARC psychologically. Something like the BeFrienders. Well, I had this urge to join it since the first year. But due to some silly complications by SAD(they always do have complications), it was never meant to be established. This time around, it will be the 2nd attempt.

I always hope to become the part of the commitee to help out in establish and organise the club. Its kinda of an ambition. But...it wasn't meant to be. I did not got into the management, which I am slightly disappointed. Yes, I noe u guys will be disgusted to think that I am some crazy-power guy. Think again, I am no such person. Its just that I had been determined to get it right the moment Miss...sorry...Dr. Chai told our class us we had to do something about the society. Plus, its a lifetime experience to setup a club. Awkwardly, I am the only one there without a position, which of course its a embarassed situation. But come to think again, perhaps I am of no ability to do so. Ambition is an ambition. But the ability to fulfill it is another matter. Maybe I have not come of time. >_<

Outta there, Vic and Christine called during the meeting, told me that they are in TARC. But hey, as I was almost there to meet them up, they said that their time is up too. Damn. Its not their fault. Its just plain unlucky.

A tiring day means I wanted, hmm, needed a sleep. As I was about to reach my room and reached for my key, I grabbed out Ernest's bike key. *looked blankly up the sky*. Called him and told him I will be returning it after my nap since, luckily, he wasn't in a hurry to go home.

So, a hurried nap is done, and off I went to college to play football and of course, return the key. Of all days, I, time and again, injured myself. *Sighed out loudly*. The point is I haven't started yet. Its just the warm-up session. Aiks, who cares. Play la.

As we reached the climax of the game. The fugly security guard came and shooed us. WTF. So it happens that we din booked the field and we are not allowed to use it. WTF again. Went back dissapointedly.

Summing up, I am now as down and grumpy and f***ed-up and *fill in the blanks with any negative word you can think of*.

* Listening and repeating Daniel Powter's Bad Day*

Me out.

Hate

Lately, I discover and realise that I am a hater.
Hate this and that. Hating people who frustrates me. Hate things that did not go smoothly. Hate going out. Hate going to classes(but still do). Hate the situation I am in.

I am as grumpy as an old man now.

Angle: Dude, where's the love?
Me: Oh, that? Go find it in the toilet bowl! Do dig as deep as u can. They probably have flushed it down.

Peer-2-Peer(P2P)

Finally, P2P is enabled for my internet connection. Nope, its not because the sucky hostel internet connection allows it, it is just some effort, help and luck that I got to use it. Wahaha. Who says the network's firewall is impassable. Bullshit.

Just in case y'all duno what the heck is this P2P about...here's the discription from wikipedia.org:

"A peer-to-peer (or P2P) computer network is a network that relies primarily on the computing power and bandwidth of the participants in the network rather than concentrating it in a relatively low number of servers. P2P networks are typically used for connecting nodes via largely ad hoc connections. Such networks are useful for many purposes. Sharing content files (see file sharing) containing audio, video, data or anything in digital format is very common, and realtime data, such as telephony traffic, is also passed using P2P technology."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peer-to-peer

For more information, log on to the above website on P2p.

So back to the P2P here, my side. Alrite, alrite, for pros and experts, this is just a damn lame story how to get a P2P thru a firewall. But for amateurs such as myself, its quite an achievement.

The LimeWire Program

Basically, the hostel network firewalled almost everything included P2P networks, online games and most of the download site, and they required you to pay 58 bucks for the subscription. Plus for guys, you had to reconnect, meaning login ur username, for every freaking hour. This is to ensure you people don't download things and crash the network. Bullshit again.

So, to get through the obstacles, that is the network firewall, all u have to do is to follow the steps below.

1. Go to any search engine and type "proxy public".
2. Go to the site where they offer u the proxys
3. Ensure the proxy port is "80". Copy the proxy.
4. If using Limewire, go to Tools>Options>Advanced>Proxy. Paste the code.
5. Pray hard that the proxy works. It might take a long time.
6. If too long, go to File>Disconnect and Connect again.
7. If still denied, find the another proxy and paste it. Follow the steps above.
8. Pray hard again.

I haven't try on BitTorrent. Should be able to got thru too. Just let me noe if u can.

As for the connection thingy, u guys can visit http://got.to/littleway

You can go on from there.

For those who want to talk about ethical stuff, you may kick ur own ass outta here. If you wanna put ur 58 bucks for maximum profit u may wanna consider the option. Enjoy!

Out.

You Got Tag!

Just in case y'all dunno what the heck is tagging about...this the quote by thomas in his blog:

"For the uninitiated, tagging is some blogger thing where questionnaires or surveys are filled out by a blogger, and then the said blogger 'tags' his fellow bloggers, obliging them to answer the tagged questionnaire/survey. think of friendster bulletin boards."

Err....Maybe. I don't drink much.

have you ever been cheated on?
Walau. Reminds me of whacking the ones that cheated on me.

have you ever had sex with one of your Myspace friends?
I don have MySpace and I don have sex...yet.

have you ever felt betrayed by your best friend?
Yeah. Don't remind me. Anyway, they are not best friends anymore. Duh.

have you ever lied to your parents?
Hehe. Yeah. I still remember the first time. They found out and I got whacked like hell.

have you ever been to the US?
Nope. Maybe someday la. Please make sure G.Bush is outta there before I step on American soil.

have you ever thrown up from working out?
Nah. I did become dizzy tho. Too many things to do at one time.

have you ever get a haircut so bad you wore a hat for a month straight?
Nope. I used to have my hair the GI style and proud of it. I wear cap because I liked and sometimes am just plain lazy to set my hair.

have you ever eaten 3 meals from 3 different fast food outlets in one day?
Nope. I seldom have fast food. They are unhealthy.

Oh? Did I just sed that? Nah. The reason is because they are not as cheap as kopitiam food.

have you ever gotten so wasted you didn't know what was going on?
Nope. Not close to it. Dunno the feeling.

have you not realized what you had until you lost it?
Yeah. Sob. Learned to aprreciate things now.

New Bird

Moving the scene from the hostel to the college, the newbies are just as many, i mean, much much more then the hostel. How to differenciate a newbie from the oldbies? Easyla...
This time around they are wearing red...yes...whole freaking bloody red shirts for their mass call day. TAR College seriously noe how to pick colours. Just imagine u see one thousand people wearing red coming out of the hall. They looked like a colony of ants or a pool of blood swarming down at you. TARC celebrating belated Chinese New Year? Probably.

Walau....tong tong chiang?

As they are to be seen almost everywhere, it doubles our eye-blinking rate. By the end of the day, ur eyes will probably gone red itself. Damn the one who suggested this colour.

Another way to distinguish them is their actions. When you see the ones that have the blur blur look one, that's it. They are either glancing on their map for direction or pointing this way that way with their friends, then you noe d lo.

As this is the year of the dragon in the Lunar calender, it is to no surprise that
the students increased dramatically. Just for accounting, they had already thousand plus students in the main campus itself, compared to 700 last year. Heard that, for the first time in college history, they are some of them get rejected. As for my counselling course, the number almost tripled. 53 t0 133. Gosh. I certainly did not expect this. Nor did anyone from my course.
Wonder how many leng luis are in the class? *evil grin*

As usual, they did their mass calls in the hall where they had to go through kindy-like procedure of greeting the principle and welcoming themselves into the college. Then they have the usual college tour and the get-to-know-u- session, which is also when the seniors met their juniors.
And thats when I met the juniors. How are they? First impression tell me that they are ok, except for few exceptions. One particular guy is fucking lansi, that he had to correct every mispronounced english we seniors said in his tongue twisting so-called British accent. Nominates himself as course rep and introduced in himself for freaking 10 minutes. Celaka. Bad news is...he ended up as Printing manager after "being nominated" for 3 times. *Laughed my ass out.*

Then again, one glance told me that they are no leng luis around, which is kinda sad. *Smack forehead*. Probably first glance wasn't enough. Must keep monitoring the class in the future.

Now I sound like a pervert.

Out for now.

Change

I am blogging less and less for 2 reasons. First, I've been busy. Second, my camera is mal-functioning. It just took away the mood to blog u noe. Thank god I am no pro blogger who has to keep up blogging or loose their "job". No pressure here. Phew.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Its a new start as my second year in TARC KL begins. Talking of getting old...or will prefer the word matured, that is. As usual, its May. And with people like me gettin' into second year, of course there will be people coming in for their first year. Yup, the freshies. Ooo...its quite exciting to have newbies coming in, the fresh atmosphere. I came back 2 weeks before actual day for classes start for one particular OON meeting, which means my hols are cut short. Nevertheless, hols are also quite bored, might as well came back and do somethng. As to prepare the freshies coming in for their first year, the college organized the orientation week for them, as was in my first year. Ish. Reminding me of my first few days in KL.

As the check-in date starts, freshies started to swarm in with their parents as they moved in to thier respective rooms. You can see how the parents cared(or would prefer the word "spoiled")
for their children. Doing the sweeping, mopping, cleaning, carrying their bags from ground to top floor etc etc.,while some of the freshies are jz exploring around the block. The so-called parent love. Heh. =.="

The hostel is a busy place for next five days with similiar procedure repeating again and again. As for me I came back to find that my new roomie has already moved in(Jeremy, my old roomie moved out). Surprise surprise. He was not in when I made my entrance. Turned out to be a STPM student who moved in like one week b4 I came back. Honest guy but sigh, it wasn't the type of roomie I am expecting. A lil' bit nerdy(lil' bit? erm..perhaps more la) and very quiet. Thought perhaps as he's new, then maybe shy to talk la. But then, after 2 weeks he is still answering my questions with one-worded answer. And oh, I really like to mentioned this...he sleeps at 9. Yup. No wrong. 9pm. *gasped*

What ya think? Who the helll in this worldby this age sleeps at 9? I slept at 10.30pm when I ma in primary school. Haih. Which means no more music blasting. No more loud games. No more laughter. No more crap. Jeremy! Can u please come back?

But then, come to think again, as long as he does not crosses the line or do something disgusting, its actually fine. Lets just hope he remains that way or maybe improve a bit. Heh. And hope he doesn't read my blog.

This is the part of the room when Jeremy is my roomate.

The oh-so-cool wall of posters.

The cool table setting.

The cool guy himself.

Now, it is like this lo............

Notice the sooooo-blank wall.

The not-so-cool-and-not-so-neat table.

It is of high contrast to say the least. The settings, the person and the atmosphere.
Time passes. Things change.

Me out.

Genting Adventure Part 2 (v2.0)

As the night looms, youngsters like us tend to be er...active. Thus, after the daily activities, its time for what we do best-----partying.

And no. People like us don't just like gather together and play scissors, stone and cloth. As planned, Bani and Kuhan brought the salvation most of us have been waiting like the whole day.

Introducing JD and er...some liquor lah..
Thomas shows his glum face coz he can't understand why are we still taking the pics while we can open bottle straight away. Bloody hell.

Without waiting any longer, we have yam seng session on. First and foremost, we have the liquor as the warm-up shot. Then, on we go for the JD. Wee. JD with coke is just awesome.
JD without anything is like damn. As I don't have high-tolerance for alchohol, drinking it straight is kinda too much. As we are enjoying the drinks, Thomas passed me a cup of JD, which I thought is the fruit wine, and I gulped it. Thomas starred at me, and before my brain can register anything, my face was like.....

Damn it lah, Thomas. You should have label it first.

After a few shots, these are the people with high tolerance for alcohol.

Puvan, Kuhan and Bani(the not so strong one actually)..they are the ones who gulped JD straight as if they are plain water. Salute these guys.

This are the...err...not-so-strong ones...

Memang tak boleh la.

Alcohol do turn poeple into cam whores. During their "normal days", they were like giving excuses like: "Don't la. I am not photogenic ler." etc etc. Now, they were like :" Oooo..I want to take pic, take my pic!!" Alcohol do change lives.

This is how we look like before and after:

As the night went by, we were so high that we were making loud noices and talking crap. Some even made their confessions. Hehe. Well, this is the time when you can take the honesty out of a person. Probably the noices were damn freaking loud, that our neighbiurs complained and we get police-clad security guard banging our door and giving us warnings. They are lucky we din't beat them up.

Eventually, the alcohol seem to take its toll on some of us, which just slammed on the bed and snored off. Certain sial people just duno when to stop drinking, and ended up in the toilet. They do become sober after the "ritual" tho.

After the boost party, most of us took a tour around Genting Highlands while the tak-boleh-tahan ones just went to bed.

The 2nd day came, and once again we led our "normal" lives. So, after a bowling game, we were ready to go. And no taxi this time.

Up we went on the Skyway, which gives a very beautiful view of the scenary of the untouched nature part of Genting Highlands.

And so, here comes the ending chapter of our short yet fun trip.

Maybe they should have some slogan like: What happens in Genting stays in Genting.

Genting Adventure Part One ( v2.0)

Its been a long time coming. Finally manage to update on the Genting trip.

After a year since the first proposal for a genting trip have been planned, we were finally setting off. Weeee. So, off we went.

Just in case. This is Genting, First World Hotel view.

To go up Genting from Setapak is just a piece of cake. Just take the Putra LRT to Terminal Putra and take the Genting bus and the Skyway up, it costs only RM 6.60. Reminder: Don't take the taxi, which some of us did. They makan up ur money by taking you to Genting for RM12.50 per person. Really stupid la. But then probably we are sooooo eager to reach there fast that we are quite easily persuaded by the taxi drivers. Sigh.

So, up we went the long winding road, the taxi style. And we reached First World Hotel,(which in many ways isn't "first world" as the name suggested, will come to that later). Checked in with Puvan's VIP card, which probably gives us the privilage to check in early, instead of waiting till 3pm.

The entrance from the lobby view.

Up we went to our room. We found our rooms(12 people in 2 rooms) to be very small.

This is our room.....not. Dream on lah.

This our room. Not so bright tho, coz we are having the ones which face other rooms. Budget what.

The toilet was sooooo tiny that you have only one step getting in and thats you are already facing the shower. The same goes for the toilet bowl. "First world" doesn't apply here.

After settling in, we have our butts out of the room ASAP, as we head for the Outdoor Theme Park. The fun begins.

This is the first ride, which is the.....OMG...i forgot the name. Heh. Anyway, its a warm-up.
We enjoyed ourselves with various rides there, here are some of them.

Typhoon, claimed to be the first ever roller coaster in Malaysia.

Corkskrew. Urm, it actually let us down, we are expecting much more fun, but I guess we wasted our adrenaline. Its not as fast and exciting compared to last time. I can even raise my hands up.

The next one is a screamer.

Yeap. The SoleroShot(not sure whether is spelled like that...)

Preparing ourselves for the ride. Just observe the hands on the bars, the grip might broke the bars into two. Keke.

This really gives you the creeps. Imagine urself pumped up to the very top and zoomed down with a freaking fast kmph, with your butt not sticking on the seat you are in, for 3 freaking times.

You can actually feel your brain in your stomach. The ultimate fun.

The rain forced us to cut short our adventure and we went for a cut-throat-price lunch at KFC, which charge us 15% more than the usual price down here. Then we have a tour of the Indoor section of Third World...sorry...First World Hotel. They do have shops exactly like the ones you can find in KLCC and Mid-Valley, only that it is located higher above sea level and they charge you the tourist-style price.

As we came with 12 people, its hard to go everywhere with 12 people sticking together every single moment. So some of us went again for the theme park and some of us head for the room for a brief rest.

Thus, the first part of our Genting trip ends here. At night, the party begins.....

Stay tuned.

Home

Ahhh…the feeling when I touched ground on Sri Nibong Bas Terminal…its like whou. Hometown feeling…you just can’t get over it…this feel…its jz special, esp. you are away for like 8 weeks.*Serene music came to a stop* The feel good moment ends…here and now.

Well, after the usual see-mom-and-dad ritual, things started to get..er…boooring. The usual problem, TAR College holiday schedule which coincidently, I mean very coincidently, clashes with other schedules. C’mon…people having exam…what you are suppose to do? Study with them probably. Yeah. They probably came out with those weird Add-maths and bio and physics stuff that will makes you wonder if they are from Mars. No, ain’t going to work. Going out? Dream on. Probably get sued by their parents for interfering with their precious sons’ and daughters’ studies.

This time around, mom and dad is working, plus my sis is working as nurse..ahem…not yet..it jz some doctor’s assistant or something, which is clooose to a nurse, without the qualification ….yet. Now some simple maths: There are 4 people in a family, dad, mom, son and daughter. Dad’s working. Mom’s working. Daughter’s working. How many people left in the house? One. Good. Now on to psychological question. When you are the only one left in a place, how u feel? Answer: Bored.

Initially, there is practically nothing to do in the house, apart from sleep, eat, shit and playing with my dog, which may be boring when you get to some extent. So, for the past 3 days, the only time I am looking forward to is 6pm, which is the football session. Which, of course, you don’t look forward to it anymore providing it came with a four-to-seven-its-raining-session-and-the-field-looks-like-a-mud-pool package. *shakes head and sighed*

Saturday, May 6th 2006, is the last match day for the English Premier League, which means it is summing up. Ok. That is the most interesting thing I have done since coming home, watching football with my aunts, courtesy to their Astro subscription(told my parents to install one last time, but they insist that I cant resist temptation, which is….kinda true. Anyway….)

Now, mushrooms is going to sprout everywhere on me anytime, if I keep sitting on this chair, blogging and browsing away, with a 56k dialed-up internet connection. And here goes the 4th day of my holiday, which left only like…erm…a thousand hours more to go before the next sem starts.

Entertainment….where have u been?

Alone

Feeling Alone
Is when you feel everybody is gone
You felt bitter
Coz there is no one that makes your life glitter

Feeling Alone
Is like a dog without a bone
Lost in thought
And feeling happy…not

Feeling Alone
Is like you lost your phone
Barred from the world
And being a lost soul

Feeling Alone
Is when you feel you are on your own
In a no-man’s land
Where nobody gives you a hand

Feeling alone
Is when making yourself prone
Prone to negative feelings and thoughts
When you yourself alone walks

Feeling Alone
Is when you desired to let your feelings known
But Alas
All you can do is talk to a glass

Lost Phone

Statement and Tribute to my phone.

One year and 3 months ago, My Motorola E398 started a journey which saw the phone serving me loyally and embarked on a process of making my communication with others a success.

Throuout the period, these are the contributions which my dear E398 has contributed since its purchase worthed RM750:

-Making contacts possible with friends in KL.
-Making me felt closer to my family and friends through long distance calls back in Penang.
-Messages, cute ones, funny ones and of course the formal ones, which is send and received throuout the circle of friends and family I had.
-A quality MP3 player who have given me entertainment whenever I needed to listen to music.
-Sweet memories which I took with the VGA camera.
-Enduring physical toughness which saw scratches here and everywhere on the body of the phone.
-Receiving and sending pictures and stuffs through its Bluetooth technology.
-And lots more...

Alas, after enjoying a fanstatic relationship, I am sad to announce that my E398 will departure from its responsibilty with its owner after the fantastic achievements that it has contributed so far.

I hope that its journey will continue with a proper and much caring owner.
Goodbye my dear E398.....

Song dedicated to my phone:
Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like its been forever that you've been gone

She said somedays I feel like shit
Somedays I wanna quit and just be normal for a bit
I don't understand why you have to always be gone
I get along but your trips always feel so long
And I find myself trying to stay by the phone
Cause your voice always helps me to not feel so alone
But I feel like an idiot, working my day around a call
And when I pick up I don't have much to say, so

I want you to know its a little fucked up that
I'm stuck here waiting, at times debatin
Telling you that I've had it with you and your career
Me and the rest of the family here singing

Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like its been forever that you've been gone
Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like its been forever that you've been gone
Please Come back home

You know, the place you used to live
Used to barbeque with burgers and ribs
Used to have a little party every halloween
with candy by the pile but now
you only stop by every once in a while
Shit
I find myself just filling my time
With anything to keep the thought of you from my mind
I'm doing fine and I'm plannin' to keep it that way
You can call me if you find that you have something to say
And I'll tell you

I want you to know its a little fucked up that
I'm stuck here waiting, at times debating
Telling you that I've had it with you and your career
Me and the rest of the family here singing

Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like its been forever that you've been gone
Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like its been forever that you've been gone
Please Come back home

I want you to know its a little fucked up that
I'm stuck here waiting, no longer debatin'
Tired of sittin and hatin' and making these excuses
For why you're not around, and feeling sorta useless
It seems that one thing has been true all along
You don't really know what you've got till its gone
I guess I've had it with you and your career
When you come back I won't be here and you can sing it

Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like its been forever that you've been gone
Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like its been forever that you've been gone
Please Come back home

Please come back home
Please come back home
Please come back home
Please come back home

Chaos

Lately, my whole body is in a chaotic mode, physically, mentally and emotionally speaking.

The physical part. Well, have been sleeping late or even no sleep at all...thx to exams...now after it...I got used to it..which is why I am blogging at this hour..6am..yep...got it right..6A.M...Damn..my sleep system is totally changed...and I nearly missed my last exam paper...phew..close...(woke up at 8.52 when the exam is suppose to start at 9)...Anyway, the sleep system really freaks me out...

The mental part. Exam is when you are supposed to get stressed. Instead, I am in tidak-apa mood on the eve of my test...that ain't right. I mean, i felt stressed 2 weeeks before the exams... and at the eve of the exam..its jz gone...I even went for yam cha session during 12am -3am...eve of exam, man. My parents will kill me if they read this. Heh.

The emotional part. Sigh...suddenly i felt very empty...I can't sense love....or isit? What I meant was, suddenly love seems to go away...I can't feel whether if I love somebody or the other way round..no, not even my parents' love(probably something to do with the distance and duration not being with them...)..But hell...feeling empty is jz uncomfortable...nobody to think of and care of...its jz creepy.

Something seems to be wrong somewhere....er... everywhere...

Into The Final(s)

Yep....there are a lot of things that is concerning my life coming into the final stages...

First of all, my fave team, Liverpool FC, has reached the FA Cup Finals, by kicking the ungraceful Chelsea(sorry Chelsea fans, but what ur manager said and done is really cocky..) asses.. thus set a date of clash with West Ham United.

John-Arne Riise (#6) breaks Chelsea's heart with this free-kick.

Luis Garcia added salt into Chelsea's wound and celebrated.

And thus , with that, they won 2-1, destroyed Chelsea's dream of a Double, and a cup on the way into their cabinets...which of course, provided they performed well....in the Finals.

Next, saw my fave team, the Spanish version, Barcelona, going into the Finals of the European Champions League, with the Gooners...sorry, the Gunners (Arsenal)...waiting them.

Joy, yeap, lets just hope they celebrated once more in the Finals...
By the way, they are Champions in making in the La Liga...erm..Real Who?

Then, I have come to complete my first year in Diploma for Counselling/Psychology....which I have an interesting, exciting and breath-taking year in TARC, KL. My coursemates are great...my hostel mates are great...the course itself is great(save for some sucky lecturers)...Life's here its just great...thanks everyone involved in my life here in KL, you know who you are, its a long list...so I won't be mentioning here....Once again, Thanks.

For my wonderful friends in CPS, its your final year in TARC...and sigh, sad to say...y'all have to move on...BUT....no matter where you go...our friendship ain't going to end just like that...In fact, its just the begining of a friendship yet to blossom in the coming years..so keep in contact often..will definately miss y'all!!

Here we go...into the finals....

Of Angels and Devils Part 2

So, as the dual of fates went on....

I got back my coswork for Malaysian Culture..and I think, noo..i mean, its definately an unsatisfied grade i have. 23 out of 4o. WTH? Now I must score as much as 75/100 in the exams to score an A, which is somthing close to the word spelled: I.M.P.O.S.S.I.B.L.E.

*Angel, having the determination increased, strike with double slice. Devil backed out.*

Than next came the Counselling Coursework Marks....erm...not bad for the second assignment...but I am worried for the first one...I dunno the marks but I have this feeling its not going to get high marks...and the Coursework stands 60% of the whole subject. F***!!

*Angel, armed with much more increased determination, strikes a critical blow on devil.*

So, with the only hope for A, that is malaysian culture virtually invissible. And with the curse of Counselling subject not yet dispelled. That leaves the other subject, English, as the only saviour.

*Angel, strikes again. Devil parried and countered with triple blow. Angel fall into pit, saved by holding to a hook.*

And it ain't any saviour. Coz as I mentioned in previous blog, the fact that every year there's only 1 or 2 people got A for English ain't helping to build any motivation.

*Devil looked down. Angel looked up from the pit. Hoping that devil will jz kill him off quickly.*

So, with motivation and courseworks marks(a.k.a. salvation marks)gone, everything seems lost. Erm...wait...perhaps somthing can save the day. Something they call....pressure. Yes, pressure helps? Probably. Pressure back home, pressure of maintaining ur CGPA and pressure from peers and lecturerers, pressure not to fail. Yes, that WILL inspire. New found hope.

*Angel saw its HarpSaber beside Devil. With the usage of the force, he grabbed the HarpSaber, and jumped up, kicked Devil's ass, and blow! the devil fell into the pit.*

Yes, perhaps pressure, for all these years, is the best remedy to inspire.

The light side thriumph once again....

Of Angels and Devils

This week is going to be a stressful week. As with so many things are left undone, I should be htting the panic button...or am I? Lets see what my angel and devil have to say...

Angel:(poof out on my left shoulder) Oi, time to study liao lo...one week more dude...

Devil: (poof out on my right shoulder) What la....still got one more week la...why panic?

Angel: Thats the point...one more week...and you haven't touch one single page.

Devil: Oh? Anyway...never mind la....how many subjects you got? 3? Hey that aint a lot..

Angel: Noo, don't listen to him. Damn, you got like 16 chapters of Malaysian culture, a dozen stacks of notes for counselling, not to mention English....

Devil: (playing with his fork) Hey, cool man! Its only 16 short chapters. Out of dozen stacks, u need only to study half of it. Plus the lecturer sucks..yeah, u wrote it in the evaluation form remember? And English? How to study English? Tell me la...

Angel: Sigh. Remember u get B for English? And u wana break ur record of gettin' B for subjects that has a Counselling word on it, right?

Devil: C'mon, dude. ONE MORE WEEK. Relax dude. U have soo many games to play yet. And remember u won't be having a lot of time to relax during the hols....Jom....DotA.

Angel: Oh my god. Not again? Please. This is ur last change to get full As, dude. Don't you want to?

Devil: (interupted) Dude, where got hope get full A? Lecturer said that there will be only one or 2 people geetin' A for English, and its goin' to be hard. Forget bout it. Don't want DotA? Nvm. Still have CS and FIFA 06.

Angel: Nono..don't fall into the dark side. Its not the time. Think about ur family, think about ur parents.

Devil: Wahaha. The Dark side is luring, isn't it? Come join the dark side!

Angel: Nooo. Don't sucumb to them.

Angel draws out the HarpSaber, Devil draws out the TriFork Saber. Dual of the Fates started.....*Star Wars themes on the way*

Outcome?
Coming soon.
