Cina Baru Year Pt3

Day nine of CNY is always an important and eventful day for Hokkien Buddhists. Its the Jade Emperor's B'day. Oh well, nothing biggy. I just kinda like the event. Back then, it used to be us kiddies playing fire crackers and chasing around the praying altar and get scolded. Those were the days. We are all grown up and the dumb-ass authorities are cracking (mind the pun) crackers down more seriously year after year.

But then, its still fun. Pics to guide through:

The altar and the offerings

The praying begins

Preparing for.......

....the bonfire.
Its actually some money notes for heaven.

Praying for luck, prosperity and the sorts....

After the prayers, its the feast.

Me and erm..poor porkie.
