And yet again, they showed why they are the comeback kings of recent years, seemingly to disregard any scoreline. 1-0, 2-0 or even 3-0 down at half time, they almost always comeback. Almost always. Justified by the Manchester City match.
The influential kid.
Admittedly, it was an awful first half for the Reds. And with confidence sky-high in Manchester City, especially with free-flow of Arabian riches and certain sulky Brazilian kid, there is always a vague and almost unrealistic hope that they can turn around. "A draw would be very good d," said a fan beside me. Oh well, optimism.
By 55 minutes, there is a glimmer of hope. Torres lessen the deficit. And then his second goal propelled more optimism. "Maybe they can win leh..," claimed the same fan. And then it did. A late, late goal settles it. The comeback is complete.
The expression(s) says it all.
And optimism ruled the day. Maybe we can end the 19-year wait as English champions. Maybe this is the season.
